40 Year Old Man in Custody Assisting With 3 Armed Robbery Investigations

Police can confirm that on Thursday 29th September, officers arrested a forty year old Pembroke resident on suspicion of armed robbery. He is currently assisting police with the following three investigations:

1. Armed robbery at Pasta Basta which took place around 9:45pm on Sunday 13th March 2016 where a black male entered the restaurant, brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from staff. The suspect, described as being about 6 ft. tall, wearing a red mask, black pants and brown top; stole an unknown quantity of cash and left the scene on a white motorcycle in a northerly direction on Washington Street North.

2. Armed robbery at Wok Express, North Street., and Pembroke around 10:13pm on Sunday 25th September, 2016 where a male wearing a scarf, covering part of his face, brandished what appeared to be a firearm and stole an unknown quantity of cash. He made good his escape, east along Parsons Road on a motorcycle cycle.

3. Armed robbery at Pasta Basta, Elliott Street, City of Hamilton around 9.47pm on Tuesday 27th September 2016 where a black male entered the restaurant, brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money from staff. The suspect stole an unknown quantity of cash and left the scene on a motorcycle.

A file is being prepared for DPP charge approval and it is anticipated that the suspect will be appearing in Magistrates Court on Monday 3rd October, 2016.

Three Male Suspects Arrested in Conneciton with Robbery of Motorcycle

Meantime, at 8:05 pm on Wednesday 28th September 2016 police officers responded to a robbery report on Devon Spring Road/Hermitage Road, Devonshire where a male was robbed of his motorcycle. Subsequent enquiries lead to the arrest of three (3) male suspects in the Pembroke area who are currently detained. Burglary Suspect Arrested

Around 7:05 am on Wednesday 28th September 2016, uniformed officers responded to a report of a burglary in process at a private residence in Sandys Parish. On arrival, the officers confronted a male suspect attempting to exit the residence through a window. The suspect was brandishing a bladed article. Officers deployed Taser and the suspect, a 28 year old Sandys resident, was subsequently arrested and detained. The suspect was found in possession of a property which Police believed to be stolen which included various pieces of personal jewelry, commemorative coins and power tools.

A file is being prepared for DPP charge approval and it is anticipated that the suspect will be appearing in Magistrates Court on Friday 30th September, 2016.
