Injury RTC - Around 10:20pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Southcote Road involving two auxiliary cycles. It appears that the auxiliary cycles were traveling in opposite directions on South Road when they collided. The rider of the eastbound cycle, a 24 year old Sandy’s parish woman, sustained abrasions to both knees while the rider of the westbound cycle, a 16 year old young man from Warwick, sustained abrasions to both knees and arms. Both cycles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving - Around 4:50am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Tankfield Hill. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling west on South Road when the rider, a 16 year old young man from Warwick lost control and collided with the sidewalk. The teenager sustained abrasions to his face, hands and legs. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Update - Fire/Sudden Death

Following an autopsy by an overseas forensic pathologist, the Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the death of an individual discovered inside a derelict Washington Street North, Pembroke residence that caught fire early Monday morning is being treated as suspicious.

Police can also confirm that the deceased individual is not missing French national 30 year old Mehdi David Yahi or missing local teenager Travis Malcolm Lowe; however Police are unable to confirm if the deceased individual is missing 55 year old St. Claire McDonald Augustus, who was last seen over a month ago.

Disturbance - Around 1:05am today, Police received a report of a disturbance at the Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club. There was no disturbance taking place on Police arrival; however, a 30 year old Pembroke man was subsequently treated at KEMH for a laceration to his face. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

Injury RTC - At 12:35pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with East Point Lane involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling along North Shore Road in the vicinity of the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo when the pedestrian attempted to cross the road. The rider of the motorcycle, a 20 year old St. George’s man, attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was unable to. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained a sore jaw as well as cuts & abrasions to his hands, legs and body.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Fire/Sudden Death - At 4:05am today, Police attended a reported fire at a Washington Street North, Pembroke residence. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene and extinguished the fire, at which time the body of a deceased individual was discovered inside the derelict premises. The individual was pronounced dead at 7:25am today by an on call physician at the scene. Foul play has not been ruled out. An active investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact Acting Inspector Kevin Christopher on 295-0011. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified.
