High Visibility Policing

The Bermuda Police Service continues with its high visibility policing initiative focusing on identified problem areas. Last week, from 6am – 10pm, Monday to Friday, Police units conducted patrols of the following areas:

Burglary

Wed, 2006-08-30

Around 9:50pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Curving Avenue, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7am and 9pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was away from the premises. The culprit stole $100 in cash and a blue & brown Sony MP3 player.

Industrial Accident

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 34 year old Joao Antonio Vital of the Azores. Mr. Vital was pruning trees in the Fairyland Road, Pembroke area around 2:10pm on Monday when he fell from a ladder and a tree limb fell on top of him.

Burglary

Mon, 2006-08-28

At 8:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Verdmont Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:15 am and 6:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her apartment while she was away from the premises. The culprit stole approximately U.S. $660 in cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Sun, 2006-08-27

At 5:35 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Riddell's Bay Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that around 5:05am she was awoken by a light shining into her room. She then saw an unknown man in the doorway of her bedroom.
