February 4 - Daily Report

Robbery - Around 1:30am on Friday, Police received a report of a robbery on Reid Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that around 1am the victim, an 18 year old Pembroke woman, was accosted by two men as she attempted to ride off on a motorcycle. The assailants and the victim are apparently known to each other. The Pembroke woman sustained facial injuries; however no weapons were used in the assault. One of the suspects made good his escape on the victim’s motorcycle, license #BF 524. The other suspect, a 25 year old Pembroke man, was subsequently arrested on Front Street in connection with the incident. Inquiries are ongoing by the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit.

February 3 - Daily Report

Burglary - Around 12 noon on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Fentons Drive, Pembroke residence. It appears that sometime between 9:30pm on Tuesday and 8:30am on Wednesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied; however apparently nothing was taken. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

February 2 - Daily Report

Burglary - Around 10:10pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cedar Hill, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime between 7am and 9pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a BlackBerry cellular phone, a Samsung cellular phone and a quantity of loose change. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Bermuda Police Service Acquires Pre-Owned BMW Police Car

The Bermuda Police Service is pleased to announce that we have taken advantage of an opportunity to buy four pre-owned police vehicles from the United Kingdom. The Service has taken delivery of one BMW motorcar; a second BMW and two Audi cars are expected to arrive later this month or early February. [Click on the photo to enlarge].

Injury RTC - Around 10:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Cox’s Hill Road in Pembroke near the junction with St. John’s Road. It appears that a car was traveling along St. John’s Road when the driver, a 28 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a utility pole. The driver sustained a leg injury. His two passengers, a 19 year old Pembroke man and an 11 year old Pembroke boy sustained relatively minor injuries. The car was extensively damaged. The utility pole was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Police Negotiators Talk Man Off Roof

Police and other first responders attended an incident at Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute a few minutes after 5 on Saturday evening. It appears that a patient made his way onto the roof and was threatening to do harm to himself. As a result police negotiators were called to the scene and began a very detailed process of talking with the patient. As a result the man was brought off the roof and inside without injury to himself or anyone else.
