Shooting at Bluebell Lane, Sandy's parish

Around 1:40am Thursday June 25th, Police received a report of a loud noise heard at a residence on Bluebell Lane in Sandy’s parish. Uniform officers attended and confirmed that a gun shot was fired at a residence however no one was injured.

Damage Only RTC - Around 8:25pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Valley Road involving a van and a car. It appears that the car was traveling west on Harbour Road and the van was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 50 year old Warwick man and the driver of the van, a 28 year old Smith’s parish man were not injured; however both vehicles received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC - Around 6:45 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Zuill’s Park Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on South Road when the rider, a 45 year old Warwick man, lost control and fell to the ground. The Warwick man sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Suspicious Package

Around 3:45pm on Tuesday, Police attended a report of a suspicious package at Freisenbruch-Meyer on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. As a precautionary measure an area of Front Street from the junction with Court Street to the junction with Queen Street was closed to all traffic for approximately two hours. In addition, the Freisenbruch-Meyer building was evacuated as well as the buildings adjacent to it.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - At 12:50am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish near the junction with Tankard Lane. It appears that a car was traveling east on Somerset Road when the driver, a 22 year old St. George’s woman, lost control and collided with a wall. The driver was not injured; however she was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Her front seat passenger, a 22 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was also uninjured. The car received extensive damage to its front end and right side.

June 21 - Weekend Report

Damage Only RTC - Around 12:15am today, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near Five Star Island. It appears that a car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, an 18 year old Warwick man, lost control and collided with a wall and a roadside wooden railing. The driver was not injured; however the car received extensive front end damage.
